Terms of Service
Salnus Surgeon Portal · Last updated: 7 April 2026 · v1.0
1. Definitions
“Service” refers to the Salnus Surgeon Portal, accessible at app.salnus.com, including all AI-powered analysis features, DICOM viewer, reporting tools, and related functionality.
“Salnus” refers to Salnus Medikal Yazılım ve Cihaz Teknolojileri San. Tic. A.Ş., registered in Istanbul, Turkey.
“User” refers to any individual who accesses the Service through an authorised account.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. Continued use of the Service following any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
The Service operates on an invite-only basis. Your account is created by a Salnus administrator and is non-transferable. You accept these Terms by completing the account activation process.
3. Purpose of Use
The Service is intended to assist qualified orthopaedic surgeons and researchers in reviewing radiological images and obtaining AI-assisted analysis as a complementary clinical decision support tool. All outputs, including but not limited to KL-Grade classifications, geometric measurements, segmentation overlays, and generated reports, are for informational and research purposes only.
All clinical decision responsibility lies with the treating physician. AI-generated outputs must be independently verified by qualified healthcare personnel before any clinical action is taken.
4. Research Use Only Status
The AI models integrated into the Service have been developed and validated using publicly available research datasets. These models have not been cleared or approved by TİTCK (Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency), European Notified Body under EU MDR, FDA, or any other regulatory authority as a medical device.
The Service carries the designation “Research Use Only” (RUO). It is not intended for use in clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, or patient management without independent clinical verification.
5. Data Privacy and Security
5.1 Client-Side DICOM Processing
All DICOM image processing and rendering occurs locally in your browser. Medical images are not transmitted to Salnus servers unless you explicitly initiate an AI analysis request or report generation, at which point only the necessary data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
5.2 Account Data
Minimum account information (name, email, hashed password, role) is stored in our secure database. All authentication data is encrypted and access-controlled.
5.3 Audit Trail
User actions within the Service (login, logout, report generation) are logged for security and compliance purposes in accordance with IEC 62304 requirements.
5.4 KVKK Compliance
Personal data processing complies with Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu (KVKK, Law No. 6698). For details, see our Privacy Policy and KVKK Aydınlatma Metni at salnus.com.
5.5 Data Retention
Account data is retained for the duration of your account's active status. You may request account deletion and data erasure by contacting info@salnus.com.
6. User Responsibilities
By using the Service, you agree to:
- Use the Service only for its intended research and evaluation purposes

- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Not share your account with unauthorised individuals
- Comply with all applicable laws regarding patient data protection
- Report any suspected security vulnerabilities to info@salnus.com
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service, including but not limited to AI models, algorithms, software, user interface design, and documentation, are owned by Salnus. Users retain ownership of their uploaded medical images and generated reports.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without prior written consent from Salnus.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of AI outputs.
Salnus shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from:
- Clinical decisions made based on Service outputs
- Erroneous, incomplete, or misleading analyses generated by AI

- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time
- Update AI models, features, and functionality
- Revoke access for users who violate these Terms
- Modify these Terms with reasonable notice
10. Governing Law
