OAI-ZIB provides manual reference segmentations for 507 three-dimensional DESS knee MRI volumes selected from the Osteoarthritis Initiative. The annotations delineate the femur, tibia, femoral cartilage and tibial cartilage for knee segmentation research.

OAI-ZIB distributes segmentation masks and identifiers rather than a self-contained copy of all source MRI data. The corresponding DICOM MRI volumes must be downloaded separately from OAI and matched to the ZIB annotations. The dataset contains 507 segmented knee MRI cases; some downstream studies exclude individual cases because of mask-quality issues. Explicit standalone reuse and redistribution terms for the ZIB files could not be verified.
